Help support people in Bristol this Harvest

Harvest Appeal 2024: Supporting South & East Bristol Foodbank

This harvest season, we’re asking for your help to support local people in crisis. Your contributions can make a real difference in the lives of those who need it most, particularly as we prepare for increased demand over the winter season.

How You Can Help

1.Donate Food

You can donate food directly through our online shop, where items are delivered straight to us. You can also drop off donations at any of our foodbank locations. Every tin, packet, and carton helps to feed someone in need.

2. Organise a collection

Churches, schools, and community groups can make a huge impact by organising food collections. We’ve created easy-to-use resources to help guide you through the process. Download these below and do get in contact if you have any questions at all.

Posters

You can download our Harvest appeal posters to share electronically or display on notice boards etc. There are 3 slightly different versions to help us get a variety of donations, so please use as many as you like: Version 1  Version 2  Version 3

School Resources

An Assembly Plan and accompanying PowerPoint for Primary Schools

A talk and quiz suitable for introducing the collection to older pupils.

A template letter for publishing details of your collection for your parents.

Church Resources

Trussell Tables (PDF)
This booklet offers a range of ideas for engaging your congregation in supporting Foodbanks over the Harvest Season.

If you would like more resources to explore justice and poverty, as well as encouraging your congregation to support our work as a food bank, then please visit trusselltrust.org/churches

In particular you may want to think about:

Running the Trussell Trust Values Course with small groups in your church, exploring the themes of compassion, dignity, justice and community from a biblical perspective. You could even adapt this for a sermon series in the run up to your harvest collection!

Using our Conversation Starter Cards for a prayer meeting centred around food poverty.

Using our Shared Journeys Bible studies and Prayers as resources for personal reflection, services or small groups.

Help us End Hunger… for Good

We believe no-one in our city should need to use a foodbank and are committed to playing our part in seeing an end to UK hunger. Find out more about this work here.

In the meantime, together, we can ensure that no one in our community goes hungry. Your generosity during harvest season helps us restock our shelves and provide hope to those who need it most.

Thank you for standing with us to fight hunger and make a real difference in our community.
